About Sebnem
Şebnem is a Turkish name of Farsi origin meaning night dew, a quiet, nourishing presence. That’s something I try to carry into my work: meeting people gently, creating space to slow down, soften, and come home to themselves.
Over the years, I’ve supported people through many pathways; as a trauma-informed yoga teacher, mindfulness-based life coach, senior mental health support practitioner, and as a self-taught artist. But more than any title, it’s my lived experience and deep respect for the human spirit that shape how I hold space.
My journey into wellbeing began after completing an M.A. in Theory and Practice of Human Rights at the University of Essex in 2009. Since then, I’ve worked alongside people navigating trauma, mental health challenges, displacement, and life transitions; sometimes in creative community projects, sometimes in frontline roles, and often in spaces where healing had no clear map. Each setting has taught me to listen deeply, to honour the body's wisdom, and to trust that even small shifts matter.
In my one-to-one sessions and group work, I draw on somatic practices like yoga, breathwork, vagus nerve regulation, and myofascial release. I also lean into mindfulness, coaching, Reiki, and creative tools when they feel right. My aim is always the same: to support people in reconnecting with themselves, their bodies, boundaries, breath, and sense of possibility, at a pace that feels safe and respectful.
My artistic practice continues to inform how I hold space with curiosity, playfulness, and sensitivity to what’s unspoken. I’ve facilitated community-based arts and wellbeing workshops funded by organisations like BBC Children in Need and Comic Relief, and I’m especially passionate about making wellbeing support accessible in everyday, culturally aware ways.
Now based in London, I offer both in-person and online sessions. I also co-facilitate therapeutic groups alongside talking therapists, and I receive regular clinical supervision to ensure my work remains grounded, ethical, and responsive.
Whether you're seeking to release long-held tension, re-establish a connection with your body, or gently build emotional resilience, you’re welcome here.
